Football Tailgates
The Alumni Association organizes formal tailgate parties in the parking lot outside Lane Stadium before every home football game at Virginia Tech, for the enjoyment of both alumni and active brothers and their guests.

History
Thanks to the generosity of Mickey Hayes (Spring ’62), the Dekes/Deeks have occupied Lot 4, Space 94 since 2008, with the complexity of our operation increasing every year.
We started with a pickup truck and a folding table with volunteer hosts organized by Theta Bowden (Fall ’70).
We soon added a tent… then two tents and a DKE flag flying high.
The active brotherhood contributed a custom ‘Cornhole’ beanbag toss game set.
And starting in 2010, Charlie Webb (Spring ’85) began organizing professional catering for each event, to help the brotherhood enjoy the day with less fuss.

Tailgate Club
As we all know, there’s no such thing as a free lunch, and to that end we’re especially grateful to the members of our annual Tailgate Club, who donate $350 each to ‘sponsor’ a tailgate and fund the fun for the rest of us.
We also have a donations box for weekly guests to chip in and help cover the cost. If you join us, don’t forget to help us out with a donation!
