In Memoriam : Maria Stack

Maria

Maria

Delta Kappa Epsilon is more than the brothers and alumni. The fraternity survives with the effort of the little sisters and sweethearts that dedicate themselves to make DKE great.

Maria Stack was one of these ladies that brought her charisma to 302 East Roanoke Street as an undergrad. Below is a notice written by Will Carter, Fall '97, about Maria's passing.

 Fellow Dekes/DKEs

Maria McClanahan, a former DKE little sister, better known to DKE's as Maria Stack has recently passed at age 38 after a heroic battle with pancreatic cancer. Maria was a staple figure at the DKE house in the mid to late 90's. Anyone who came to visit the house was sure not to miss her. Her commitment to the fraternity was exemplary and she went out of her way to help the brotherhood. Her warm smile and unforgettable personality graced all that had the opportunity to know her. She will be greatly missed by all that had been in her presence. Maria had been residing in Richmond where she leaves behind her husband Larry McClanahan and family. For information on where you can send donations in her honor please follow the link to her obituary posted in the Richmond Times Dispatch.
